Any chance you'll ever make it to The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI? Would love to see your work!

kristin kokborg - Tuesday, July 1st, 2008
Greetings from Alaska,
Tim, I once had a homemade tape ( left at my house by a tenant) that had Broken Down Palace on one side and a collection on the other side that I can't find among your cds... One song about your grandmother, one about your grandfather another about "the years these last months have put me through, lost my job, wrecked my car, someone even ripped off my guitar..."
Is this collection on a cd somewhere? My cassette has self destructed and I miss that music!

freddy - Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

(or your autograph on a piece of paper with some words written down).
I will be very delighted to got your autograph in my personal collection.

Anyway, thank you very much, and may God bless you and your family.

With warm greetings from Belgium.

Great show last night at the Royal Theatre in Danville. Thanks for taking the time to talk with my six year old grandson after the show.

Lou Murray - Friday, January 25th, 2008
Welcome back to Richmond, I had no idea that you were recording now. I caught most of your acting that you did on TV series. What a multi-talented guy you are! Knew you had something when you were a student here at Earlham College. I took care of your banking in the basement of Runyan and since then I've worked for EC 25yrs now. Glad to here you've come back to your Indiana roots.

Barton A. Smith - Sunday, January 20th, 2008
Hey Hay-farmer. It's been a long time since you and I sat in Mr. Perry's chorus class and pretended we knew how to sing. Looks like you may have proven yourself by now. Though you might like to know, one of the one-man plays you performed in about a new pastor in AZ was used this Sunday at our meeting in Nashville pertaining to the Sermon on the Mount and "Blessed are those who mourn." It hit home, providing foundation for redemption for some people. Take care, glad you're back in the 'hood. I'd love to sit down and read "The Sneetches" together again sometime. Glad you've prospered.

Doug - Tuesday, January 1st, 2008
For what it's worth... My 3 favorite albums (in no particular order):
1) Stripped - Rolling Stones
2) Absolutely- Sister Hazel
3) Heartland- Tim Grimm

Dude, you ever be driving down the road, listening to the crap played on radio and scream out the window "Life ain't fair".

Well, I probably would if I was you...

Dave Huntoon - Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Kevin Vance - Friday, October 19th, 2007
Hi Tim. I was at the show at Cindi's house and talked to you about the song about digging in. Can you please send me a single recording of it or at least the words. You know how deeply that song moved me and I would be in your debt if you would help me out. Thankyou your friend Kevin. P.S. I hope we get an invite to see you with Jason Wilber at Cindi's house in November.

Tom Steffes - Tuesday, October 16th, 2007
Your performance at the Hilly Hundred made an impression on my 10 year old son. When asked what he enjoyed the most about the Hilly, he responded the show on Saturday night. He was constantly asking us to turn up the music as we listened to your Heart Land CD on the way home.

I have to agree, with him. Having grown up in a small farming community, spending lot's of time on my grandparents' farm, the last thing I expected to do was to own a farm someday.

Now I have 25 acres, with cattle, llamas, chickens, dogs & cats and bale my own hay every year. Your songs ressonate with my soul.

The next time you perform at Earlham, we'll try to be there.

Tom

Richard Verdery - Monday, October 15th, 2007
I really enjoyed your performance at Hilly Hundred! You have an amazing talent to create word pictures in your lyrics. Great Getaway and Better Days were terrific!

Tim: No idea how I missed learning about your appearance at The Ark a couple of months ago until just this moment. I check your tour schedule fairly frequently and subscribe to The Ark newsletter, so I certainly don't have a good excuse! Nevertheless, I had no idea you were here until I read the comments below. So disappointed to have missed the show, but glad to hear it was a great one. Hope to see you perform again soon. Best wishes to you both!

I can't remember when I've ever head such heartfelt, real music. It is refreshing to know that there are musicians who stay true to their beliefs. Many years of success to you and your family.

WOW! "Back Fields" is excellent! Reaches part of my being that could not find its voice - that is the best way I can put it. We are SO glad you'll be back in the Big Sky in a couple of weeks!! Thanks for bringing your gift of "connection with who we are" to share with us. Best wishes to you and yours! PS- thanks for the privilege of opening for you last time: it was an honor that I will ALWAYS treasure!

Tim,
I am so sorry to learn you will not be in town for our 2nd Annual Historic Columbus Celebration on April 14th. David Sechrest was to get in touch with you but it appears you were already busy.

We are celebrating CHS and The Commons as they both will be changing very soon. CHS to be torn down forever and The Commons to be redone.

Sorry you will not be there as you and your lovely wife, Jan, were the "highlight" for me last year at Donner Park.

Hope you are having a wonderful year and hey, should you have a little spare time before you have to depart for your show in Illinois, stop by The Commons in downtown Columbus, Indiana. We'd love to see you even if you can't perform for us.

Keep on singing! :-)

David Madison - Sunday, January 21st, 2007
Tim, I had the honor of seeing you perform in Cobleskill NY a few years ago. Your music touched me in a very powerful way that, many of the songs related to my own life experiences. After seeing you perform and purchasing the "coyote's dream" cd I contacted my older brother Willard, (whom is also my best friend) and had him listen to your music. He loved it so I obtained a copy of coyote's dream, heartland, and names for him. He listened to them constantly and many times over the last few years when we got together we discussed your music and spoke of seeing you perform when you come back to the area. A few weeks ago I found out you will be performing in Niskayuna, NY in February '07 I was going to suprise him with tickets. Unfortunately he passed away on Jan. 10. I will be at that show physically and I know he will be there in spirit. I just wanted you to know how much he enjoyed your music and how it touched his heart and soul. He honored and respected the land and nature, and lived for his family. "family ,work and friends are all his needs". Thank you for your music, words, and your spirit. They are truly a gift. See you in Niskayuna in February. Take care and much blessings to you, David Madison

Patrick Casey - Saturday, January 20th, 2007
Awesome performance in Columbus, Ohio last night. We'll be sending you info on the house concert scene in Columbus. My lady friend, Renilda is the one who asked for "80 Acres" at the Six String concert show. Can you tell us more about that amazing guitar you played. You told me that it was built by a man in your area. I have heard a bunch of really fine guitars in my day, and that one was so suited to your style of playing - wow!! I saw on your tour schedule that you are heading to the New England area. Be sure and try to get scheduled on WUMB folk radio in Boston (if you haven't already done so). They have a noontome show with Marilyn Rae Byers where artists playing in the area come on and talk about their music and play live on the radio. Safe travels, and we hope to see you again in Ohio.

Tim, I've been listening to your music for years now since I first bought your Heartland cd on our annual trip to New Harmony. I've lived in the ozarks of south central Missouri all my life and your music truly reaches me. I've played around on a flattop most of my life and would also love to see you put out a songbook. I would love to play some of your music for my family and friends. Hope to see you in Missouri sometime soon. djp

Tim i met you a year or two ago when you played with Jason in Arthur Il.We talked about your cover of the rev mr black.Dont expect you to recall it was a while ago. Any way i really enjoyed what you did that night with just a song a guitar and some humor.very refreshing and a class act. i continue to enjoy my copy of coyote dream as well as study it in the hopes of learning some of your craft of wordsmithing.wondered if you have any advice for a 30 year old musician who wants to share his music with the world, as well as share his life with his family. I have some good stuff written but i just dont know where to begin. was wondering if you had any advice. thanks again for sharing your gift tim and i think four chickens for one rooster seems about right too.

Dear Tim, I knew you a little bit in high school, I was CNHS '79. I was in your dad's American history class and knew your little brother Luke. I would love to hear how your family has been doing. I have followed your career and have your cds and have seen you play a few times. I am very proud of you and admire your work. I saw your play about farmers at IRT a few years ago - that was incredibler. I am a huge folk music fan and a super Carrie Newcomer fan. I play the guitar and sing myself and would love to learn some of your songs. It would be great if you would put together a songbook or put some on the website. I now live in Singapore and miss Indiana very much which makes me enjoy your music even more. Anyway, God bless you and your family and keep up the good work!!
Sincerely, Tom Weinland

Leslie Gray - Monday, December 5th, 2005
Dear Tim-
I have to tell you how much I am enjoying your CD's. We met you at the Spirit and Place Festival about a month ago with Wendell Berry. We are the ones that have bought some land in Pendleton Indiana and plan to start a farm there. We too are going back home (Madison County) like you did. That's why your music totally speaks to me. We bought 6 of your CD's so we could give them as gifts this Christmas. I am giving them to my most precious friends and I know they will love them as much as I do. I REALLY love 80 Acres - Better Days - and That Old Man. As you can see I have been focusing on Heart Land.
We have been meeting with Joe Davis of Indiana Natural Builders in Bloomington who is also very familiar with your music and appreciates it almost as much as we do. Hope to hear you in person again real soon. Maybe you can do a gig at Trader's Point Organic Creamery in Zionsville. Anyway thanks so much for your music!

Hey, Tim. We lived in New Harmony for 10 years, and we knew you then. David was the Episcopal priest there. Remember? We moved to Southside VA in 2000. Today, I opened the Richmond paper, and there you were, playing tonight in Glen Allen. I always remember that y'all lived in a garage for two years while you built your house. Love that! Hugs--- Leslie

joan hersh - Thursday, December 1st, 2005
thanks, tim, for another memorable CD ('The Back Fields). some of the songs sounded like old friends even though i'd previously heard them only once, when you and jan were at bill's blues in evanston last february. 'lost and found', 'my turn' and 'the back fields' have the authenticity of instant classics, which is the sign of a great song. 'the girl from the north country' has never been more beautiful and it is almost trancelike in its intensity and longing for lost love.

like many of your fans,
i had been following jan's fight against leukemia on the caring bridge website . i'm so glad your family came through the fire, stronger than ever. joan hersh

Mike - Friday, November 18th, 2005
Hi Tim, here is a fan of your music from Germany. Your "Names" album blew out my mind. That´s one of the best Folk Albums I´ve ever heard, maybe THE BEST!!! Heavy rotation sice I bought it last year. I think that in Germany will be no chance to see you live on stage, so I hope that you will realese a Concert-DVD sometimes in the future. That would be great!!!

Betty Moore - Thursday, November 10th, 2005
11/10/05 Enjoyed your performance at O'Brien's in Rockville MD last night. I wish you could have played longer. I am looking forward to seeing you in Baltimore next February.

Hello Tim,

We met about a month ago in Bolingbrook when you were playing with Jason. Your music is even more special now that I've been able to have a little "quiet time" with your CDs. I hope the gig in Arthur, IL last weekend went well. I look forward to seeing you Sunday in Geneva, IL.

Steffen - Saturday, August 27th, 2005
I listen your music first on a local radio station and than searched for cds - thx to the internet - i bought all cds at cdbaby. I like your songs so much. May i hope that you will come someday to germany/europe? Thanks for open my musical horizon!

David Child - Friday, August 19th, 2005
Great to see Jan looking so good at Schuba's last night. I must be getting old, though, because I can remember when people sat at tables or stood in background listening to the music, not competing with it. Looking forward to seeing you and Jan at Fox Valley over Labor Day weekend as well as at WFMT again. I gave Jan the name of a movie to track down, A Couch in New York, with Juliet Binoche and William Hurt. If you like French comedies, My Wife is an Actress (ma femme est une actrice) with the real life married couple Charlotte Gainsbourg and Yvan Attal are joined by Terence Stamp in an exploration of on-screen romance's effect on marriage. There is a delightful English comedy from the early 1960s called I'm All Right, Jack. It stars Peter Sellers as a union steward. Finally, the Carry On series are also a treat to watch.

Best Wishes,

David Child

Joe Bourne - Wednesday, August 17th, 2005
Tim--Afraid I know you only by rumor, reputation, and word of mouth (thanks for the latter to David Wierhake).
I play music on the radio--jazz, mostly, but I reserve one day a week for the great stuff that is played all around me, but outside that category. And that should include your music. Please send me something good for your potential fans in Bloomington, TH, Columbus, Indy and contiguous areas. Thanks, Joe Bourne,

I was just wondering if you were a councelor at Camp Deerhorn in the 70's, because I was a camper & there was a Tim Grimm who played guitar & sang at camp & wondered if you are one in the same.

Glenn McKittrick - Monday, July 11th, 2005
Tim,
It was great to hear and meet you last Saturday in Bolingbrook. You put on a big time performance in a small venue. I will see you again in Geneva, IL in September.

Tim: It was an honor and pleasure to see you and meet you during the run of "The Grapes of Wrath". The experience was wonderful for Jeremy as well as his entire family! Your music and acting were touching, and enriched our family. As Jeremy told you, we bought all 3 of your CDS that were for sale at the theatre, and have been listening to them all weekend. If you do make a CD with the music from the show, please let us know. We will put our order in now! In the meantime, the CDS we did buy will give us lasting memories of having had this wonderful experience. We thank you for sharing your many talents and gifts.

Julie Fidler - Monday, April 18th, 2005
Tim,
Please, Please do some expansions of the songs for "Grapes of Wrath"! I can't get them out of my head. Saw you in Indy in Feb-March and in Syracuse this past weekend and the music was as fantastic yesterday(literally!) as it was opening night. "This Land Was Made for You & Me" makes me cry every single time I hear it (And I heard it 6 times-4 in Indy and 2 in Syracuse). You are so talented!

Tim-What a musical joy it was to see your show at the IRT last night. A powerful perfomance. I wish all my friends had been there. Hope you find other local venues so we can see you again soon. You should do a songwriting workshop. I'd be there!

The Roushes from Brown County, IN - Saturday, February 26th, 2005
We stopped in our tracks when we first heard you and Jan singing "She Remembers" at the Bloomington Farmer's Market. Your local concerts have been highlights of the past several years for us. We've baked pies, made great meals, painted the house, driven miles down the road enjoying your artistry. Thanks for the creative inspiration and soul-stirring thoughts. We love the backfield-turkey song that Jan has written. We barely breathed as you sang it in January.

Jim Keller - Thursday, February 24th, 2005
Great Music!

Bill Walters - Saturday, January 29th, 2005
Tim,

Was at your concert last night and really enjoyed. Please put us on your e mail list for further concert notices. Also, I mentioned to your wife (who by the way sings beautifully and should do some solos) that there is an 1800's hay press at Wyandotte Woods State Recreation Area (now named O'Bannon Woods after the late governor) near Coryon, IN. If you haven't seen it, it is a must for a hay farmer.

Hi Tim,
it took some time but please let me thank you so much for your latest album, it is another wonderful effort of yours. Not only I played it nearly every track from "Names" in my radio show here but I also enclosed it in my list of the best CD's of the year.

Mr. Grimm:

Scott Hunter of Columbus speaks very highly of you, and he informed me that I should contact you. I am an aspiring actor/speaker (currently in a local theatre group and the PA announcer for the area high school sports team), and Scott mentioned that you may be able to give me a couple suggestions or point me in the right direction, given your successful background. Any guidance is sincerely appreciated and welcomed.

You have a very interesting site!

Have a good evening.

Sincerely,

Chad Spence

I was introduced to you and music at the BlackRock in Germantown MD this fall and immediately became an avid fan.

Heard someone singing your song, "Down the Road" this afternoon on WHUM. Who else is performing it? Of course, it wasn't as good. When will we hear some of your CD cuts on that station? Not that simple to do?
Bye,

Jeff Byron - Wednesday, December 8th, 2004
Tim,
Not sure if you remember us Mark Weber introduced us riding you and "the Pigman". Kandy still talks about her first century with you and Jan on your tandem that cold wet day in Solvang what was that 95.
I was watching "Clear and Present Danger" the other night and went into my office and hit Google to see what you have been up to since you left California. I must say looks like you made a very good move. Downloaded "Hartland" and have "Names" and "Coyote's Dream" on the way. Just wondering if you may be getting back to California any time soon would love to see you live.

Ken Stockton - Saturday, December 4th, 2004
Tim - I had the pleasure of having your Dad as a teacher in high school (Columbus - class of '73). I was sitting in my kitchen having coffee this morning and one of your songs came on the radio. I didn't know it was you until the DJ said so. Good stuff! I'd heard from a friend of mine (Bob Brookshire - a former colleague of your Dad's) that you had taken up music as a career. All I can say is - "ya done good". If you ever make it out to Ft. Collins, Colorado, please get in touch. There's a thriving folk scene out here (both in this town and throughout the state), and I'm sure you'd be well-received.

Best Regards -

Rick Wine - Sunday, October 31st, 2004
I had been listening to "Coyote's Dream" for the last couple of months, enjoying the visionry, the smooth, yet very rich and siezing lyrics, solid, dusty, sometimes haunting and always FINE vocals and excellent guitar work. You had our audience every second - even with your cold! Man! You are the best I have heard in SO long! And seeing you live in Helena, Montana!!! What a grand treat! Perhaps equal to your music, is the man you really are - I guess that is why your music, in piece and total is so fine. THANK YOU!! Please come back to Montana!!! Best regards, Rick Wine and family

Karl Zemlin - Friday, October 15th, 2004
I decided to listen to the recording I made of your Indy Folk Series performance. At the end of a frantic Friday at work, your songs remind me of what _really_ matters. You and Jan (and Patrick?) put on such a GREAT show that night. The stories you tell, and tell so well, really add to the musical content. A perfect balance if you ask me. I'm greatful that I had the opportunity to be a small part of it all.

Tried to sign up for your mailing list, but the site did not like me. Just got error messages. :-(

Cheers!

Paul S. Fish - Friday, October 15th, 2004
Tim - I've been a fan since your days on "Reasonable Doubts". I have nearly every episode on tape. I was pretty upset when it was cancelled. I remember your performances in "The Insider" and, especially, "Clear And Present Danger". And then - nothing. I didn't see you in any films and wondered what happened. Then, much to my surprise I stumbled upon an ad in a Massachusetts/Vermont based music magazine! I had forgotten that you were also a musician. Then I remembered an episode of "Reasonable Doubts" where you played an acoustic guitar. I have yet to hear any of your CDs but I am about to order one. I can't wait to hear it! I'm glad to have found this web site!

Hi Tim and Jan,
I love living in Phoenix but miss seeing friends...especially get togethers at the McMahans. I met Wyatt Earp here in Phoenix, descendent of the famous Wyatt. He wishes to do a one-man show at the Eideljourn (sp). It is a wonderful play that he has performed all over the world..any suggestions? If you are ever in Phoenix, I would love for you and the family to stay if you need a place. Sharon Groves, 5101 N 40th St, Phx, 85018 602-522-2343 C:602-421-0650

Thanx one more time for bringing Bill Staines to Columbus...one of my musical heroes. Isn't it amazing how he gets folks to so readily sing along? Incredible.

Meri Toler - Saturday, September 25th, 2004
Hi Tim, I never heard of you before, but I just got tickets for your show with Karen Savoca (who I used to go see back in 1989-90) in Sudbury, MA in November so I thought I'd check out your website. Looking forward to the show!!

Ray Sedlock - Saturday, September 18th, 2004
Hi Tim,

I just listened to a sampling of the songs from the "Names" CD, and Linda and I can't wait for it to arrive. I really enjoyed the cover of "Johnny 99" as Springsteen's "Nebraska" album (yes, I date myself) is one of my all-time favorites. The first time I heard you, I thought about the song "My Father's House" by Springsteen and how much your songs moved me the same as that one did. We are looking forward to seeing you in Sudbury on 11/20. We only have to drive 20 miles for that show.

Best of Luck,
Ray

Ricky Berkey - Saturday, September 18th, 2004
Tim, we have seen you in just every possible venue and combination of musicians but love you best stripped to the bare essence of voice and guitar. The Heartland Center in Columbus is such a perfect setting for a small intimate gathering. Thanks. When I discovered Columbus a few years ago and made it my "adopted home town" the icing on the cake was discovering your music. I never get tired of those songs and the new ones are just as wonderful.

Thanx also for bringing Bill Staines to Columbus, Indiana. I have loved his music for nearly 30 years.

April Knox - Saturday, September 18th, 2004
Tim and Jan, The concert at the Heartland Center tonight was beautiful. It was so personal. I saw your concert at the Commons as well and while I loved it, tonight´s concert touched me on a much deeper level. I was brought to tears several times. I grew up in the country on a farm and my grandparents, in their 80s now, are still farming that land (with the help of my brother). I love your songs! Your lyrics speak to people. You say what they feel in their hearts, in a way that they can not express themselves. You have a wonderful gift. Thank you so much for sharing it with us… See you Sunday at Chautauqua :)April Knox

Cindy Cromwell - Friday, September 17th, 2004
Hello Tim. My husband and I saw you last night in Germantown, Md. at the Black Rock Center. Your songs truly moved us. Yes, I'm the one that was crying over 'Better Days'. Thanks for sharing your talent with us! Regards, Cindy

Dave Raymer - Thursday, September 2nd, 2004
Borrowed my buddy Dan Basham's CD "Heartland" that he bought at The Berg in Arthur, Il. when Tim and Jason Wilber were there Saturday, July, 31st. Got it wore out. Ha! We drove down from Bellflower, Il. to hear Jason Wilber for my wife and my 25th wedding anniversary.
Jason was awesome as always, but we left as new Tim Grimm fans! Great songwriters are supposed to inspire us amateur writers, but Tim's songs are so pure, professional and "from the heart" that I just want to stop and listen (over and over). How can a man sing about dirt, give ya chills, and touch your heart that way? I come from a different soil type, but Tim's lyrics hit so close to home. Can't wait to catch another show (after harvest)!

David Marshall - Saturday, August 21st, 2004
Great show at the Commons in Columbus for your new album release. I hope my pictures turn out as well as the show did.

Judy Kiel McKain - Friday, August 20th, 2004
Are you ready for producing the greatest Christmas hit in decades? I have a wonderful poem/story written by my niece of the great Christmas tree hunt with her late Dad. What a memory. They searched near Houston/Freetown area where I reside.
Can't wait to purchase your new CD.

Tim and Jan,
I really enjoyed meeting you and I loved your performance in Cadillac, Michigan, on July 15. I became a fan by the second song. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the "Names" CD and will be among the first to buy. I can't wait until you come back to the area and hopefully to Cadillac or nearby. I have been praising your work to all of my friends. Thanks.

Cynthia J. Criss - Monday, June 14th, 2004
Went to the concert at the cabin and really enjoyed your concert. I could relate to the stories you were telling.

- Sunday, May 9th, 2004
Saw Tim's show last night in Rochester, NY at the Golden Link. My husband and I drove the 1 1/2 hrs to get there mainly because I was curious to see what another Grimm would sound like. (I sing folk/bluegrass) And,I was interested to see if we might be related. I got, in return, the chance to see an engaging performance by a great songwriter and his wife. The harmonies were beautiful. There's enough on this website describing Tim's shows- I can only agree with them all. If you get a chance to see Tim, certainly go, even if your name isnt Grimm.

Jacqueline Rose Grimm McCarthy - Sunday, May 9th, 2004

Rob - Friday, May 7th, 2004
Hi Tim, I'm another new fan from North Andover. I have to agree with Matt and Pete and Knox, (none of whom I know). Wow! I was so impressed I had to get both the CDs you brought. Thanks for signing one. I had one little disappointment though - you had one absolutely beautiful song that touched me deeply, and it's not on either disc. Sadly, I don't remember a lot about it, except I think there was something about feet (not?)touching the ground. I'm not even sure I've got that right. I just know it gave me hope at a time I needed it. Thank you. I guess you're still working on it. As far as I'm concerned, it's perfect. Now please, record it so I can buy another CD! If you want to record it "Live at the Crossroads Coffeehouse", that would be just fine with me. I'll even bring my four-year old, Andrew, with me.

Laurie Ploof - Wednesday, May 5th, 2004
Hi Tim,

I saw you in Bradford Vermont on April 9th. Oh My GOD!

I can't tell you how you touch me, I grew up on a farm, walked the boundary lines, worked the land. It was a 3rd generation farm.

We no longer own the farm, but I am still on the land that I grew up one, going on my 41st year. I know that land like the back of my hand.

I tried to tell my son what it was like to work the farm, take care of the cows, having a lot of responsibilities at a very young age, bringing life into this world at 4am, see a calf take it's very first steps.

I can't put into words what the smells are like, fresh bailed hay, the mornings after a frost, the feelings as well as the smells of a spring rain, the stillness of a new snowfall.....the utter breathlessness of 25 degrees below zero under a full moon.

You captured that in your songs, I felt a kindred spirit, you are blessed with a talent that touches people, I leaned things about myself through your songs, you gave me back some very fond memories, ones that I had let slip away with time.

Keep up the good work, don't ever doubt that what you have is a very special gift, a god given talent that not many possess.

Keep being true to yourself.

Laurie Ploof

Just looking up some Grimm's and found you. I have not heard your music but I am going to check it out.

You seem to have a number of fans who really love you and your music.

Matthew Martin - Sunday, April 18th, 2004
Hey Tim -- Matt Martin here, Matt Price's friend -- saw you in N.Andover last night and spoke to you about coming over to Ireland someday. Drop me an e-mail sometime and keep in touch -- great set. Powerful stuff. (You're pretty lucky to have a fan like Knox -- I saw him there last night and he was clearly a discerning critic. Why do I think we'll someday see Knox Lendall with a guitar up on a stage?)
Take care, and all best wishes -- Matt

Peter Lendall, Knox's dad - Sunday, April 18th, 2004
My son, Knox and I saw Tim last night with Vance Gilbert. After two songs Knox looked at me and said "...I really like this man's voice and his guitar playing...". Knox is four years old!! Tim was a great entertainer and has a few new fans north of Boston. The songs that he sang were rich with story. My son wanted to know the story behind each song.We were lucky to meet Tim both before and after the show and he was very much the gentle man you see on stage. As my son says"...the stories are good but listen to his guitar playing...". Before we saw Tim he was just the opening act now he is the main act in the car CD player. Thanks for a great show - Knox and his dad

kenneth p. hughes - Saturday, April 17th, 2004

I was so moved by your set at the Middle Earth Theater in Bradford on Friday, April 9.

Your songs are filled with with insight and wisdom.

You are blessed to have such an awesome appreciation of the land, and those who have worked it before. The humility and attitude of stewardship rather than ownership that is so dominant in your songs is truly vivid and moving.

I guess I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your show, but more, how I salute you for the values you eschew through your beautiful songs.

I cannot wait to spend another evening with you. Hopefully more than a short set the next time.

Thanks for a set of music I won't soon forget.

THANKS FOR COMING TO SEATTLE !!--you've been among my "top 4" for a long time now- I NEVER imagined you'd be playing only minutes from my home. Any chance of making "us" an annual stop?
**Please send out a notice on your mailing list about when your early CD is reissued & the new one is ready for us** thanks again

Sally Grimm DeBorde - Wednesday, March 17th, 2004
I'm looking forward to hearing Tim's songs. I found him while doing an online search for people named Grimm. My dad, Jimmy C. Grimm, and his brothers Bob and Harry were from Zanesville, Ohio. God bless!

Tim, I can't believe it! Remember me of Ann Arbor Performance Network days? I live in Seattle! I'll come to see you on Mar. 12 if AT ALL possible. Want to act in a piece I'm doing at Hugo House April 20? No real memorization- Aw, forget it. I didn't mean to pitch already. I am currently rewriting Straws in the Wind. I always wondered where you'd gotten to. Where have you gotten to? Where's the hay farm? You've always been one of my favorite people. I wasn't sure it was You- then I saw the half-grin. No mistaking that. Please email me- Any chance of getting together for coffee or conversation? Affectionately, Lyn

I just heard one of my favorite songs at work. "Heaven" It should be on mainstream country stations. I know people that listen to that station would like it. I don't listen to mainstream country stations because I think what they play isn't country. I listen to WFHB most of the time. Anyway, Just to try and get it to a wider audience, I called 101.5 country here in Bloomington and requested it. I wish I'd been wrong and surprised but i was right and the dj had never heard of it. He says he has had up to 4 local musicians in rotation at one time. He said if he had it he would listen to it. Tim, I think you should get a copy of the new cd to them. That song--hell all Tim's songs should be on country stations. There aren't enough stations like WFHB out there to do the job. People don't know what they are missing. Dennis Sipe

Kitty Donohoe - Monday, January 19th, 2004
Hi Tim,
you were on stage before me and my band at MAMA's in December and I didn't get a chance to talk to you at all - as you know trying to tune up, figure out your sets and get mentally ready is kind of all-consuming at a gig - but I did get a chance to hear a few of your songs. I liked what I heard and since then have heard some pieces of your CD being played at other jobs I've been at and have liked you even more. As a fellow regional songwriter I appreciate your down-to-earth
writing and approach. Those of us in the "middle" have a special perspective, I think. I look forward to hearing you more in the future!

Thank you Tim for all the wonderful music. Maybe I can come again to your next album release on a snowy night in Columbus. You can find "Heartland" on Apple's itunes for download, not sure of the price.
The cemetery is still there near to what was Elkinsville. The town is under water.

Were you actually saying Browning Mountain, where these is a cemetery on top? I believe it is near an old town Elkinsville, which I am not sure exists today.

Alane Judkins - Tuesday, October 28th, 2003
Picked up your FREE lunchtime concert at the Artsgarden in Indy - unaware of the schedule as I walked in and a sense of serene and calm well-being overcame me. I blew off most of my errands (except for the ice cream cone) and proceeded to sit for nearly an hour. You made some observations about the 'traffic' that I've heard other performers also comment on which is somewhat unique to that 'venue'. Enjoyed Browning Mtn and the Hoosier teens the most! Will check out your CDs and keep an eye open for shows in the area . . . Thanks for an enjoyable lunch break!

cathy robinson - Tuesday, October 28th, 2003
Sign us up for Brownie Mountain tour! Great concert at the Artsgarden today. Cathy & Bill

David Fishken - Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003
Holy crazilla! You sound more like Jack than Jack on Buffalo Skinners.

HeyHo...you and Fishken (Me) & Groves are splitting a bill way off next November here in Massachusetts, Northboro, to be exact. Couple of years back we opened 'er up for Jack at Club Passim. I think we're gonnn have some fun here, and I hope we have some time to play/swap tunes.

Check us out at www.fishkenandgroves.com. Care to swap CDs? I'll send you ours if you'll send Coyote's Dream. What's your mailing address?

BTW, I could hook up another gig in MA, depending upon how Jo Charest feels about it. Or, cover another period of time entirely.

Drop me a line off this list.

Anyone snooping for a good CD expereince, check out our CD, Going To The West. We'll be playing in Iowa next summer at the Traditional Country Music Festival, August/September.

Jack Gubanc - Wednesday, October 1st, 2003
Hi Tim:
Just wanted to write and let you know I put on all three of your CDs and had forgotten how good they are. I have so much music that I often do not get back to many artists. Recently saw Loudon Wainwright appearing with Steve Forbert plus also saw Rodney Crowell.
Rodney's last two discs have been incredible. Going to see Dave Bromberg with Paul Siebel opening for him in Annapolis. Not sure if you are familiar with Paul, but he was another of the 70s Greenwich Village guys who was great and never sold any albums. A complilation disc of his two first LPs is available on CD if you want to hear an incredible artist!
There is a local coffee house here that holds about 200 that might be interested in you if you decide to come to the DC/VA area. Called Jammin' Java and has a website. Hope you are working on another CD. Be well.
Jack

Just got home from the Ark. R' Jack was terrific as well as Roy B Binder. And again, it was a "pleasant surprise" to see you there! thanks for the songs.

I met you when you were with Jack a few years ago in A2. The show where Jack was sick and you took over for him. Really enjoyed it and mentioned you were a "pleasant surprise". Stuck around as long as I could tonight to say hi but had to hit the road. Wanted to say thanks for your music and for your obvious love for Ramblin' Jack. Take care of him!

I was at a workshop in NY this year and we were swappin' songs. I did my best with "Better Days" has become a favorite of mine- great song and CD. I'll pick up your new one soon.

Hope your family is well and life is good. take care and thanks again for lookin' out for Jack!

Dear Tim,
I discovered you by way of a comment from Tom Pacheco while he was being interviewed on Radio Woodstock (WDST). Quite simply, you blow me away. You've figured out that your family & quality of life are numero uno, and at an earlier age than I. Enjoy your farm. The next time your in the Hudson Valley (Woodstock or Bodles or where ever), drop by our farm in New Paltz & we'll talk about real values. Also, you can drive around on my John Deere 4310!! All the best,
Kurt

Donna Pacini - Thursday, July 3rd, 2003
Dear Tim, I have been crazy about your music for a year now because your greatest California fan, Robert Peterson has introduced your music to many of us. I wish you could hear the way he speaks about you and your music, you would be very touched. Because of him I have listened to your CDs and I have become a devoted fan of yours myself. Thank you so much for allowing Robert to perform "Better Days" at the 07-13 Phoenix Rising Benefit Concert. I do not recall hearing him do music without also doing "Better Days" ... it just wouldn't seem right if he didn't do it. If you are ever in the Bay Area, you have a lot of people here who would attend a concert if you have one, or who would love to invite you to come to our jams. I think you would love it, and we would love to see you. Again, thank you for the wonderful music, and thank you for allowing Robert to do "Better Days" ... Best to you and your family. Tim, Just wanted again to tell you how much Bonnie and I enjoyed your performance last Sat. night in Lombard. It was nice meeting you. I had just the best conversation with your mom yesterday morning, telling her that we had met the night before. You have such talents and such a way of telling wonderful stories. How can I get to you a copy of the book I just self-published titled LESSONS FROM THE PORCH: A GATHERING PLACE FOR TELLING OUR STORIES. You might enjoy it, and your folks might enjoy it as well. It's autobiographical and talks some about my growing-up years in Columbus. Best wishes.
